The "Climate in Italy in 2022" Report, a traditional publicaton by the Istituto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale (ISPRA) since 2006, is being published this year by the National System for Environmental Protection (SNPA).

The document is structured in two parts. The first part describes the climate trend over the last year and updates the estimate of climatic variations in Italy in recent decades on the basis of data, statistics, indices and climatic indicators derived from the National System for the collection, processing and dissemination of Climatological Data of Environmental Interest (SCIA).

The second part of the report collects in-depth contributions, from the national to the local scale, on the main elements that characterized 2022: drought and water scarcity, heat, significant hydro-meteo-climatic and marine weather events.
