Evaluate and improve the public health actions provided by the Regional Prevention Plan (PRP) through the adoption of standardized, accurate and ethically unsuitable procedures. This is the objective of audit by Local Health Care authorities whose address lines have recently been established by a specific Regional act (DD).

The DD May 16, 2017, no. 326, "Approval of guidelines and documentation to support experimental audits of the Piedmont Regional Plan for Prevention 2014-2018 (Program 10 - Governance)", describes in detail the audit operating model adopted by the Piedmont Region deriving from both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the European Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (ECDC) guide-lines.

The main objectives of the audit process are as follows:

  • ensure a monitoring system and support for the full implementation of PRP and Local Prevention Plans (PLP);
  • acquire new knowledge of audited activities to improve ongoing activities and prepare future programming;
  • improve or fine-tune PLP governance processes;
  • impact on participatory skills through participation and change, including through self-evaluation processes.
