3184 were the NINFEA mothers who answered the anonymous COVID-19 questionnaire published online for two weeks (7-19 April) during the quarantine period.
The data collected concerned:
- prevalence of flu symptoms in the family nucleus;
- perception of general knowledge about the ongoing epidemic and main information sources.
A first scientific article is about to be published and a second paper is being drafted. However, some results of interest have already been made public through the NINFEA project website, in particular those relating to data on information sources.
The online channel is undoubtedly the preferred one in the search for information on COVID-19, but the salient data is that institutional websites rank first among the preferred sources (76.6%).
Immediately after the institutional sites, television news reports (66.5%) and web version newspapers (63.2%), while social channels came in fourth place (30.5%).
Following, in the ranking of information sources: healthcare personnel (26.6%), online search engines (23.9%), friends and relatives (15.4%), radio news (13, 9%), online periodicals (13.2%), paper newspapers (8.1%) and, finally, paper periodicals (2.6%).
