The "Italian Atlas of mortality inequalities by educational level", carried out by the National Institute for the promotion of the health of migrant populations and the fight against poverty diseases in collaboration with Istat, has been published.
Less educated male people show in all regions a life expectancy of less than three years compared to most educated, time period that is added to the disadvantage of the regions of the South where the residents lose an additional year of life expectancy, regardless of the level of education; however, for some causes of death, such as cancer, the risk of death is higher in northern regions.
