The SISMEC Working Group Course dedicated to causal inference will be held in Milan from December 14th to 16th.
Causal inferences play a predominant role in the scientific field. In epidemiology, in particular, the goal and ambition of most researchers is to determine an unbiased estimate of the effect of being exposed to a certain risk factor on a well-defined outcome (disease, death). In recent years there have been important statistical developments that go beyond the traditional multivariate regression techniques.
The goal of the initiative, now in its X edition, is to discuss the state of the art with respect to these issues, while maintaining a practical focus, and to evaluate our current and future capabilities to effectively address the questions of cause and effect.
