The European Environment Agency (EEA) has just released the new air quality report, which shows that fine particles continue to be the cause of premature deaths of more than 400,000 Europeans each year.
The report provides an updated air quality analysis and its effects, based on official data from more than 2,500 monitoring stations across the continent.
Road transport, agriculture, power plants, industry and households are the main contributors to the emissions of atmospheric pollutants in Europe.
