The annual workshop of the regional cervical cancer screening programme has been held on September 19th 2012 in Turin. See the scientific programme and the presentations.
This course, mainly addressed to operators within screening Departments in Piedmont, showed the Service functionalities: a project for facilitating impact and process evaluation of regional screening programmes.
The Service has been designed to help reaching the maximum level of completeness for data collected within all screening Departments. This aim is pursued by promoting interaction among Units for screening organisation and evaluation (UVOS) based in each Department. Whereas the CPO supplies methodological and organisational assistance in order to optimize data collection and analysis.
The Service is now working for breast cancer screening and for cervical cancer screening, and it is under construction for colorectal cancer screening.
A copy of the original approval report, stamped and signed, of the "Prevenzione Serena" program is now available online.
The project, financed by the Regione Piemonte, aimed to identify factors that encourage Albanian women to participate in cervical screening in order to develop an awareness campaign tailored to their needs, expectations and socio-cultural characteristics.
Considering the lowest levels of participation in screening programmes for immigrant women than Italian women, Prevenzione Serena decided to devote part of their work to this target through a specific project for integrating immigrant women in the regional screening programme. The initiative aimed to promote the participation of these women, making targeted interventions to improve the quality of communication and the access to screening facilities.
